Climate Trends, in partnership with Arthan, is organising a series of online forums to talk about the interlinkages between climate change and different social issues in India.
Date: June 24, 2021
Time: 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM
We’ve seen that climate change is a “threat multiplier”, worsening existing vulnerabilities and injustices. Communities experience climate impacts unevenly and lack the resources to adapt to it. Therefore, solutions to climate change need to be people-centred, inclusive and holistic, instead of deepening existing hierarchies. This holds especially true for a country like India, which is the 5th most vulnerable to climate change impacts, and has a large marginalised population. As climate impacts become more pronounced, they would have a direct impact on other social issues like gender equality, social justice, human health, hunger, poverty and many more.
Through this online forum, we want to engage with social organisations and foster collaboration towards a common vision of fighting climate change and building climate resilience.
